(Gimli, MB) July 21, 2010 – The 10th Annual Gimli Film Festival (GFF) kicks off Wednesday, July 21, 2010 with director Caelum Vatnsdal’s We’re the Weakerthans, We’re From Winnipeg (Produced by Winnipeg’s FarPoint Films) on the 35-foot screen on the beach and Short Program One: When Things Go Bad at the Waterfront Centre.
We’re the Weakerthans, We’re from Winnipeg follows the beloved Canadian rock band as they embark on their biggest Canadian Tour: from the cliffs of Newfoundland to the northern mountains of the Yukon and almost every major Canadian city in between.

Please note – Today’s presentation of We’re The Weakerthans, We’re From Winnipeg is a change to the printed schedule that reads Crackie as the free beach screening. Sherry White’s feature length directorial debut feature Crackie will premiere at GFF on Thursday, July 22 at the Waterfront Centre.
Free Beach Films – 10 pm each evening – on the 35 foot screen on the shores of Lake Winnipeg. Bring your beach chair or blanket and sit under the stars for a truly unique experience!
Tickets for all films and events are available online or at the MTS Headquarters Box Office (74 2nd Ave.). An ALL ACCESS Pass is only $45.00 and allows access to an unlimited number of films.
