Eligibility:

Submissions may be fiction, documentary, animation or experimental. A short film must be less then 60 minutes long. Films must be completed after January 1, 2009.

Entry Format and Presentation:

Format Preview copies must be in DVD (PAL or NTSC). Preview videos must be clearly labeled. Please send in a paper sleeve.

Please do not send masters, originals or irreplaceable items.

Submitted DVDs will not be returned unless a SASE is included. Send a press kit or bios of the key creative people along with any additional information you would like to include. Complete the submission form and be sure to include an email address.

Submit a film online:

We require your film to be exported as a Quicktime file.  The file will be large and you may have to use a service such as Yousendit.com (there is a charge, however they will give you a free two week trial.)

Once you have the Quicktime file go to your Yousendit account, follow the prompts, upload the file, insert Gimli Film Festival’s email address (friends@gimlifilm.com) and send.

Notification:

Successful entrants will be notified by June 15, 2011 by email. If the selected film is a feature or documentary, you will be asked to supply a print-ready synopsis (200 words or less) and 1 to 3 images from the film. Feature and documentary images must be high-resolution (300 dpi – 5×7 image minimum) in a JPEG or TIFF format.

Short film submissions will require a brief print-ready synopsis (30 words or less) and a single image if available. High-resolution images are also recommended.

Submission Fees:

There is no fee for short films. All other films are charged a $30 processing fee.
